The route first takes you through Vransko and then to the scenic Čatarjev hrib, where a beautiful view of the surrounding valleys opens up. The route continues through the peaceful places of Čemšenik and Izlake, known for their thermal springs and cultural heritage.

Vitanje and Mislinja

We start the cycling route to Šempeter along regional road 447. At the Fijavž bakery, we turn left and ride through smaller villages such as Podlog in Savinjska Valley, Gotovlje, and Ložnica pri Žalcu. After crossing the overpass, we continue on quieter roads through Galicija and Hramše. Once we reach regional road 429, we turn right and follow signs toward Dobrna. We recommend a stop at the beautiful park near Terme Dobrna.

Šoštanj and Velenje

We begin our tour at Hotel Grof and cycle along less busy roads through Gomilsko, Parižlje, and Polzela, continuing toward Gorenje. From there, we ride along regional road 426 (Pesje-Gorenje-Letuš) to Velenje. We recommend a stop to explore the town before continuing toward Topolšica. Along this route, we’ll pass the airport in Šoštanj, with an optional stop at Lake Šoštanj or in Šoštanj itself. The final part of the route takes us past Gorenje, Letuš, Braslovče, and Žovneško Lake.

Frankolovo and Dramlje

We start our journey from Hotel Grof, passing Žovneško Lake toward Braslovče and Polzela, then cycling to the Andraž Quarry, mostly through forested areas via Ložnica, Arnače, Podkraj, Velika Pirešica, and onward to Dobrna and Socka. We stick to side, low-traffic roads throughout the route. Passing through Dol pod Gojko, Črešnjice, and Rove, we enjoy the natural beauty and stunning views. The steepest climb awaits us near Črešnjice, followed by several smaller hills.

Žička Kartuzija

A picturesque tour to one of the oldest monasteries of its kind in Central Europe. We begin our journey at Hotel Grof and cycle toward Celje, passing through Prebold and Griže on less busy roads. You’ll know we’re nearing Celje when the Savinja River appears on your left. We soon cross the river and ride past the First Grammar School of Celje, heading through the city center, where we recommend a short stop. The route continues toward Teharje and Proseniško. Along this stretch, keep an eye out for stork nests perched atop streetlights.

We start cycling at hotel Grof towards lake Žovnek and Parižlje where we cross Savinja river and continue towards Polzela town. We can stop for a Castle Komenda visit then continue cycling next to Savinja river towards Šmartno ob Paki. In Paška vas turn towards Skorno and Gorenje with a slight climb and descent to Mozirje, where we suggest visit Mozirje flower park. After walk in the park, continue cycling to Rečica ob Savinji and Šmartno ob Dreti, where climb to Lipa pass starts. Beautiful views and descent to Vransko will bring you back to hotel.

Descent towards Tabor

Primož Roglič Birthplace

We embark on a picturesque route through the birthplace of our top cyclist, Primož Roglič. We start at the Hotel Grof and turn towards Vransko, from where we slowly start to ascend towards Trojan. After a short break at the Trojane inn, where we recommend indulging in Trojane donuts, we turn onto a side road towards Izlake. We also pass through his birthplace, Kisovec, where we recommend visiting the brand-new cycling park named in his honor.

We start our route at the Grof Hotel and cycle along picturesque and varied side roads through Tabor, Prebold, and Griže to Celje, where part of the route follows the Savinja River. We turn left onto Čopova Street and ride through Ostrožno towards Lopata. At the chapel, we turn left onto one of the less trafficked roads, passing by Galicija and Hramše to Dobrna.
