Plešivec Mill

We start cycling from Hotel Grof towards Stopnik and continue along the highway towards Šmatevž. Throughout the route, asphalt and gravel roads alternate. We cycle past hop fields towards Parižlje. We pass Lake Preserje, and cycle along Savinja River to Letuš, where we cross the river. The path begins to ascend gradually. We continue towards Lepa Njiva and Florjan settlement. We pass a small cave - Mornova zijalka, and continue cycling to the Kajuh Memorial site, where famous Slovenian poet and national hero Karel Destovnik - Kajuh died under the gunfire of German soldiers in 1944. After we continue cycling towards the Kavčnik Homestead and ascend to the highest point of today's tour - Sleme Pass, which is located at an altitude of 1082 meters above sea level. Soon after, we begin the descent towards the 500-year-old Plešivec Mill. Along the Velunja River, we descend to Lake Škale and cycle along the shore towards Lake Velenje and Velenje Beach. In Velenje, we cross the Paka River, followed by the last longer ascent of the day towards the Lower Savinja Valley and Polzela. We cycle among hop fields towards Šempeter and Latkova vas all the way back to Hotel Grof.
