Ponds and lakes

For more active families we suggest cycling across municipalities Vransko, Tabor, Polzela and Braslovče, with short breaks at numerous ponds and various lakes where you can eat a snack and rest or watch birds that live in this area. We begin our trip at Hotel Grof and follow local roads past the Islander Ranch towards Tabor where we start to ascend. Soon we arrive to Lisjak Pond, a popular area for weddings, birthday parties and other gatherings. We continue with short ascent through forest path and descend towards Celje - Vransko main regional road. Once we cross the main road we arrive to Gomilsko. Mostly flat road leads us to Braslovče where we turn right towards Lake Preserje which is located 1 km away from Braslovče. The lake is a great place for an active relaxation with fishing, walking paths or relaxing by Savinja River. Afterwards we continue back to Braslovče and turn right past the Braslovče hayrack, followed by descent towards Lake Braslovče. At the lake you can find a short educational trail around the lake and a chalet which is known for their trout. Afterwards we continue our journey back through Braslovče towards Žovnek Manor where we turn right towards Žovnek Castle and Lake Žovnek - an artificial lake known for its numerous birds breeds that nest there. We recommend visiting Žovnek Castle on the way back to Hotel Grof.
