Sleme Climb

A longer cycling route where you can enjoy the views of the Savinja Valley and Carinthia. We start the route from Hotel Grof towards Lake Žovnek, continuing through Rakovlje and Parižlje to Šmartno ob Paki. We then head to Šoštanj, part of the route runs along the Paka River, and then we slowly begin to ascend towards the Sleme Pass. Following the regional road Poljana–Črna–Šentvid–Šoštanj–Velenje, we descend to about 570 meters above sea level. We suggest a stop here before returning along the same route back through the Sleme Pass, with another ascent. Instead of cycling back past Šoštanj, we take a different route towards Topolšica, then through Florjan and Lepa Njiva, first to Mozirje and then to Nazarje. We conclude the tour along the regional road Nazarje–Gornji Grad to Šmartno ob Dreti, with the final ascent to Lipa and through Vransko back to Hotel Grof.
