Following the trails of Europe's largest shepherd settlement

We take a van to the Črnivec Pass (902 mnv) and from there we start cycling on the gravel road around Kašna planina, where we can enjoy beautiful views of Menina Planina, Veliki Rogatec, Lepenatka and the rest of the Kamniško Savinjske Alps, and after a 6km gravel climb we descend to the Volovljek Pass (1029 mnv). Volovljek or Kranjski rak is a pass between Gorenjska and Styria. Here we join the asphalted road, which after 3km of cycling we return to the gravel road to Domžalski dom, where we have a beautiful view of the forested high mountain plateau - the Velika planina. Circular tracks and single-track trails lead us towards the Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows and the Veternica Cave. The circular route along the plateau ends at the Črnivec Pass.
